Scrapbook Ideas for Passport

Expert AuthorHaving enjoyed travel to New Zealand and Japan, I began trying to connect my scrapbook ideas and passport. I had a lot of ideas - and I had the passport bearing entry and departure stamps, but how could I find scrapbook ideas for passport? I did an internet search, using scrapbook ideas + passport, but that gave me no help. I was shut up to my own imagination. After some thought, I came up with something, and although I can’t share photos here, I will share the scrapbook ideas.

Passport Scrapbook Theme

Your theme is, of course, the passport that allowed you to travel. Reflect this theme on the cover.

Scrapbook Ideas and Passport - Paper

1. Passports are printed on special paper, with a repeating pattern. In the USA, the pattern on most pages consists of state seals. Unless you visited many countries, your passport should have blank pages. Scan the pages into a computer, and piece several together to create scrapbook paper. Or copy in color, and piece the copies to create a new copy the size of scrapbook paper.

This paper may spark other scrapbook ideas with passport themes. For example, you may want to use only your own state’s seal as a repeated pattern for the departure and return pages.

CAUTION: Do not copy any part of your passport that reveals identity.

2. Use faded map copies of places visited for scrapbook paper.
3. Use muted copies of national flags for scrapbook paper.
4. Use native designs from wrapping paper or stationery - for example, New Zealand’s Maori or Australia’s Aborigines.

Scrapbook Ideas with Passport - Photos

Be sure your photos include a good balance of you, friends, and scenery. You need not have people in every scenery photo, but do include enough to show you were really there. Crop photos to focus on the most important part. Include photos of your means of travel, hotels, interesting shops where you purchased special gifts, restaurants, unusual food, and scenery.

Copy the front of your passport as a “photo” for the title page. If you have a separate passport photo that reveals no personal information, use it also on the title page.

If you do not have photos of souvenirs purchased on your journey, you might want to take some to add to your scrapbook. Fit them onto pages showing the place the souvenirs were purchased.

Scrapbook Ideas and Passport - Journaling

Add captions and notes on each page to record memories and make the page easy to understand. Be careful to find accurate spellings of the places you visited, and names of people you include.

If you saw unusual road signs, note them. If you saw signs translated into your language with amusing results, include the results.

Scrapbook Ideas for Passport - Extras

Once each page has background paper, photos, and journaling, you are ready to add extras. Use foreign stamps, unusual stickers, or travel stickers. If yours is a USA passport, use eagles such as shown on the passport cover.

Scrapbook Ideas for Passport - So Many!

When you think about it for awhile, you discover there are many scrapbook ideas that can be used with your passport.
